Hello, I am Chef Yogi!
Hello, I am Chef Yogi, and for the past 20 years I have been a student of food — learning from some of the best chefs and culinary experts around the world. It’s been an amazing journey so far, one that has seen me fall in love with the beauty of nature, be fascinated by different ingredients, and get captivated by the stories behind each recipe.

Food is my canvas; flavors, colors & love intertwined. With every dish I share a piece of my culinary soul

My Story - Chef Yogi
I come from a charming village nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, North India. Surrounded by abundant wildlife and fresh produce from farms and forests alike it was hard not to grow up in awe of nature. The kitchen rituals were daily and rustic on our part — cooking nutritious meals over a wood-fired stove. The warm room would fill with smoke during chilly winters which made eating meals sitting on jute gunny sacks such a cozy affair; you just had to enjoy every bite with happiness.
For me, food is a powerful form of expression that begins at birth. I feel responsible for sharing my experiences with others because recipes taste their best when made using seasonal ingredients at their peak (in terms of flavor, texture and nutrition). India has such diverse seasons as well as climate types all across its territory which makes this country’s culinary heritage an incredible journey shaped by generations upon generations worth of traditions being passed down through time. This blog will cover recipes learnt from expert chefs; my mother;
local eateries; and many more amazing people who were kind enough to share their secrets with me! I still write things down when I eat or see them — constantly scribbling away… And it is through this blog that I hope to share whatever knowledge & wisdom these notes might contain after years spent living life as someone obsessed about cooking
My philosophy about cooking is simple: keep things uncomplicated yet delicious because sometimes great cooking can happen without fussing too much over details. Trust this: having a few solid recipes in your back pocket will make your everyday cooking life so much easier! Here at BestRecipesOfIndia.com, I have teamed up with my wife, Amita — herself an accomplished foodie. We want to show people how they can simplify their cooking by selecting ingredients carefully and streamlining processes so that anyone can create mouthwatering dishes from the comfort of home.
Hello, I am Amita!
Hello there, I’m Amita – born in a small village tucked away in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, Himalayas. Growing up surrounded by nature has been my biggest inspiration when it comes to creating nourishing meals for my family. I believe that less is more; especially with ingredients – because this allows the true flavours to shine through. Food is love, care and honesty for me – which is why I cook from my heart every single time… My aim is always to not just tickle tastebuds but touch souls as well!
